Photoshop plug-ins for retouching
Quick introduction
This plug-in lets you apply a uniform or a
radial soft filtering to the photo. Use levels,
graduated effect or radial effect to modify the
result.
This is the Soft Filter plug-in’s control panel.
Click on the image for a larger view.
It works with the following image modes:
8 & 16 bit/channel: RGB, CMYK, Grayscale,
Duotone, Lab.
Main controls
Effect
sets the amount of filtering, or in other
words the strength of the soft filter.
Radius
sets the size of the soft-filter.
Examples
In the following examples the radius was consistently set at10, while the effect was changed.
Original
Effect = 50
Effect = 80
Effect = 100
Retouch levels
The three slider Lights, Midtones and Darks are
common to most Power Retouch plug-ins and
they adjust the level of retouching applied to the
respective brightness levels. In other words with our soft filter, you can for example soften the lights
more than the shadows.
Radial effect
These controls lets you leave the centre as it is, while softening the image more and more towards the
edges.
Center placement
lets you move the un-softened center by clicking the button and then clicking on the preview where you want the center.
Original
Uniform softness = 100% radius = 20
Radial softness = 100% radius = 20
Center radius = 30
